Skybound Classic

Built to cruise in style, this comprehensively restored open-top FJ-40 is bound to turn heads. Finished in a show-stopping black-on-blue paint scheme, this 4.2L 6-cylinder gasoline-powered icon can tackle the boardwalk as well as the beach drive from the Hamptons to Malibu – and any rugged terrain in between.

Like all Legacy Overland builds, the vehicle was completely disassembled with chassis, panels and components taken down to bare metal before being prepped and masterfully painted. The drivetrain received an overhaul, which included upgrading the radiator to a high-performance OPL aluminum unit.

Interior to turn heads

Particular emphasis was placed on upgrading the interior to a handcrafted and custom-designed vegan leather upholstery. The front driver and passenger seats were changed to sporty bucket seats. The front seats, half-door panels and rear jump seats were finished in an exquisite diamond-patterned and contrast-stitched pattern. The floor was clad in a weather resistant vinyl carpet with edge trim to make for an easily maintained floor for easy of use – nothing like being able to wash out the sand after a day of driving on the beach.

Driver and passenger can seek shelter from the baking sun or mid-day tropical downpour under a tailored bikini top. A RetroSound media receiver livens things up with a four speaker custom sound system.
