True heritage
The story of this meticulous restoration spans literally generations and decades. The client commissioned a no-holds-barred restoration of this 1985 two-door Range Rover Classic, sporting a Land Rover 3.5L V8, to bring it back to its original glory and memory-maker days. The client learnt how to drive on this very car, purchased by his father in France. After spending many miles in it - and dining its door - the car was sold at some point in the 1990s. In honor of his father and days in France, the client set out to find the car. In 2018 he was amazingly able to find the very same car in a small village in France - but in a terrible state of dereliction. The Range Rover Classic was brought to Legacy Overland for our meticulous restoration.
We spared no effort in bringing the Russet Brown painted car back to its former self - and then some. Painstakingly restored over 5,000 hours of work, the car was taken down to the last bit and then carefully built back up, everything restored, refurbished or replaced.
Exquisitely designed nostalgia
The interior received copious attention as the client wanted the same original pattern that the Range Rover Classic came in back in 1985. This was a special pattern mostly used in French delivered Range Rovers. As no such patterning is available any longer, Legacy Overland designed a replica of the pattern and had it custom made by a specialty fabric manufacturer.
While vinyl is period correct and all, the client opted to replace the typical Palomino beige surface areas with full grain leather throughout the car and dress the dash and console areas in black leather. While at it, Legacy Overland integrated a custom air conditioning unit, installed a premium sound system and custom colored seat belts to match the fabric.
Other tasteful upgraded including replacing the roof to incorporate a sun roof from a mid-1990s four-door Range Rover Classic, hand made floor mats, custom roof liner, child seat anchors and much more.
