Restored the old school way

This 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 underwent a complete restoration in the Legacy Overland tradition with everything disassembled and meticulously and carefully rebuilt. The interior was finished in hand crafted tan leatherette with green edge piping to match the color of the car – British racing green. The floor was covered in fiber carpet with felt underlay to quiet down road noise. Walls and roof were covered in charcoal alcantara-type material. Interior door hardware was upgraded to black anodized aluminum for door pull handles, locking pins, and door latches.

The front windows were converted to electric and seat heating installed for the two front seats. A dashboard console was added to house a Sony double DIN media unit (connected to four speakers) and a battery of Carling switches. A custom made air conditioning unit was installed to cool things down. Externally, a nudgebar was installed up front with two extra large auxiliary lamps. Ebony black side runners and a rear NAS-style bumper step were installed to make for getting in and out easier.

Deep and thorough

No component was left untouched and all mechanical components were rebuilt, including engine with new sleeves, rings, bearings, machined surfaces with rebuilt diesel fuel injection pump and a new turbo. The cooling system was completely rebuilt and all ancillaries (upgraded 120 amp alternator, water pump, starter motor) were added new. The gearbox and transfer case were rebuilt. All metal hardware, including brackets, bolts, fasteners, etc were galvanized. A custom tailored cover was made for the car to protect it during long-term or seasonal storage.
