Change of heart
Change is sometimes not just needed but it is for a decisively better future. This 1993 Range Rover Classic engine swap is one of those that exemplify this brave, new future. After having seen many -but really many- miles, “old faithful” just did not have any pep in its step left. In came the tried and true LS3 swap, because - why not? The GM 6.2L V8 is an excellent fit for the Range Rover Classics and this project neatly integrated this all-capable and all-reliable power plant seamlessly into the car. With the 400hp engine (in round figures, but who’s counting?), a 6-speed automatic 6L80 gearbox was installed. Connect and cruise it was not, but cruisin’ it now does!
Seamlessly integrated
The new drive train was connected up to the old trusty transfer case to maintain all original off-road cred. Tons of fabrication was required to incorporate a new aluminum performance radiator and custom exhaust system - but that’s what we do! All gauges and dash functionality was maintained to provide for that oh-so-classic vintage feel of the ol’ RRC. Keep on truckin’.
